JORGE CHARNECO, AIA, NCARB

Managing Principal

Jorge provides a wide range of strategic programming, planning, and design services for MILES ASSOCIATES' corporate, academic, healthcare, and institutional clients. With more than 25 years of experience designing a broad range of technical facilities, he leads many of the firm’s most challenging national and international projects. His appreciation for the art and science of architecture fosters a collaborative design process that allows for complex planning solutions within architecturally-significant buildings. This client-centric process facilitates the development of functional and innovative design solutions that also meet the client’s most technical needs. His projects include the OU Children’s Medical Office Building and Atrium, the OU Gallogly College of Engineering’s Devon Energy Hall and ExxonMobil Lawrence G. Rawl Engineering Practice Facility, and the BHGE Energy Innovation Center of North America. Jorge has recently completed Chun C. Lin Hall for the OU Homer L. Dodge Department of Physics and Astronomy.  This quantum-physics laboratory building is one of a handful of facilities in the world capable of meeting the stringent technical criteria required for NIST-A research.

Over the past decade, Jorge's experience working on technically-challenging projects has earned him recognition through his multiple appointments serving on National Institutes of Health (NIH) Special Emphasis Panels and their Scientific and Technical Review Board on Biomedical and Behavioral Research Facilities.  In addition, he was invited to present the BHGE Energy Innovation Center of North America at the 2017 International Laboratory Design Conference in Madrid, Spain.

Outside of the office, Jorge is also a strong advocate of utilizing his architectural background and skillsets through volunteer and philanthropic efforts in his community.  He currently serves as an Oklahoma City Urban Design Commissioner and on multiple non-profit boards.
