The University Research Park is an incubator for biomedical research, development, and marketing for the State of Oklahoma. Formerly known as PHF Research Park, it is located adjacent to the Oklahoma Health Center in Oklahoma City on 23.5 acres. MILES provided all master planning services when the park was just a vision as well as all architectural design services for the park's seven mid-rise buildings.
The park's buildings are between two and six stories with floor-plate areas of approximately 25,000-to-28,000 square feet. The brick-veneered and glass buildings have concrete structures able to support floor loads required by modern research and office utilization with each building featuring zoned heat and air conditioning.
A pavilion was designed as the central food court for the research park. The pavilion serves as a connection and shelter point between the parking garage and the shuttle stop. This area features cafes, open indoor seating, and meeting rooms which are adjacent to a landscaped plaza with exterior seating.
The research park includes a conference center with a 52-seat tiered conference room, a 20-seat executive board room, and two multi-purpose meeting rooms with state-of-the-art videoconferencing, data conferencing, and scientific visualizations. There is an additional 100-seat, classroom-style presentation room.
An adjacent parking structure has space for 1,750 vehicles. The garage provides daily parking for park tenants as well as employees of the Oklahoma Health Center who utilize a shuttle system to travel to the OUHSC campus. Access to the garage is provided by three multi-level entries; one of which is accessible by visitors.
